Orangutan Infant

Soft pastels and pastel pencils

Original Artwork (30.6cm x 42.9cm)

I've never had the pleasure of observing orangutans in the wild but it is certainly up there on my bucket-list.

My artwork celebrates this endangered species, using the vulnerable, yet adorable poise of this infant as a reminder of how crucial it is for us to conserve our planet's wildlife and their natural environments.

I am delighted to announce that 'Looking to the Future' was shortlisted in the Explorers Against Extinction 'Sketch for Survival' 2021 competition. Out of nearly 1000 entries, my artwork joined the other 99 selected pieces to be exhibited at the gallery@oxo in London in November 2021. It was auctioned off to raise  money for the 21 for 21 Project Fund.
